Energy Efficiency-Probably the number one reason we like TPO. Typically TPO roofs exceed the EPA's energy star requirements. Installing a TPO roof will help keep your indoor temperature comfortable while reducing your HVAC costs! *It is important however to keep your TPO roof clean and free of debris. We recommend annual cleaning and inspecting of your TPO roof. A clean roof will help maintain its energy efficiency and assure the full life from your TPO roof. But do not hire just anyone to clean your TPO roof. ONLY a professional should clean the single-ply membrane as high pressure washers and inexperienced individuals can damage the roof, voiding the warranty and requiring costly repairs.
Durability-The TPO membrane is incredibly resistant to algae, bacteria, dirt and ultraviolet and chemical exposure. The membrane is flexible which allows it to withstand tears and impact damage. TPO is installed in 10' x 100' rolls which significantly cuts down on seams.TPO roofs are easy to repair should an HVAC technician put a screwdriver through the membrane. Once installed a TPO roof is considered a monolithic roof, meaning the seems are sealed permanently creating a sealed envelope to protect your building.

Standard roof installation procedures
At Southeastern TPO we work with contractors and customers to install a new TPO roof as quickly and as painless as possible. Often for commercial buildings which are occupied, it is difficult to do a tear off during business hours as this stage of the project is typically very noisy. So, in order to avoid business hours we have the ability to do much of the work during non-traditional business hours. We will work with you to assure we impact your business as little as possible.
Once the existing roof is removed, we inspect and repair any decking we discover damaged which might affect the new roof.
The next phase is installing ISO boards. ISO boards or Polyisocyanurate insulation boards are installed mechanically to your roof decking. The thickness of the ISO board determines the R-value. New construction requires a specific R-value which is R-40, replacements can vary but the more R-value the better the efficiency of your roof which translates to energy savings.
Finally is the TPO installation. TPO is delivered in rolls 10'x100' and are mechanically attached at the edges. The "sheets" are heat welded together at the seams and all roof penetrations get special attention to properly waterproof the membrane. Custom flashing is normally required for roof edges.
